Dallas streetcar getting later hours and daily service

Starting Monday Feb. 15, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, in partnership with the City of Dallas, will begin seven-day a week streetcar service, starting at 9:30 a.m. The cars will run until midnight, making connections with the final DART Rail trains at Union Station. The current operation is weekdays only, 5 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

The free streetcar operates along the 1.6 mile route every 30 minutes at all times. Later in 2016, frequency will improve to every 20 minutes at all times with completion of the southern extension to Bishop Arts.

Customers needing earlier trips into Downtown Dallas should consider Route 21 which parallels the Dallas Streetcar as it travels over the Houston and Jefferson Viaducts.

More information is available at www.DART.org/DallasStreetcar or by calling (214) 979-1111.
